Set out on the ‘East’ side of Rutherglen for a relaxed yet indulgent journey
through wine, food and landscape. Whether you wander on foot, ride between wineries,
or take a gentle drive, this is a progressive feast designed to be savoured at
your own pace.

Over an easy 8km, you’ll discover three of Rutherglen’s most
celebrated boutique wineries, each offering a delicious chapter in a
thoughtfully curated regional experience.

Your journey

1. The Rutherglen Wine Experience
Begin your day by hiring a bike and finding your rhythm as you ease into the
landscape.

2. Anderson Winery (from 11am)
Arrive beneath the shade of a grand gum tree and take a moment to slow down.
Enjoy a guided tasting, then settle in with your Jones Winery Restaurant
charcuterie platter and a glass of sparkling, overlooking the vineyard in all
its quiet beauty.

3. Jones Winery & Vineyard (arrive before1:30pm)
Continue on to Jones, where heritage buildings and warm hospitality set the
scene. Taste through the range in the charming cellar door, explore the
adjoining gallery of local works, then sit down to a fresh, seasonal,
French-inspired dish—thoughtfully paired with estate-grown wine.

4. The Big Wine Bottle (Optional)
Take a gentle climb to one of Rutherglen’s most iconic landmarks. From the top,
enjoy sweeping views across vineyards and out to the distant ranges.

5. Chambers Rosewood Winery (Via the flat part of the bike trail, arrive before 3pm)
Finish your amble in timeless surrounds. Taste through their renowned wines,
then collect your dessert and pair it with a beautifully aged fortified. Settle
in and savour a final, indulgent moment.

From here, it’s an easy return to the heart of
town—unhurried, content, and well-fed.
